Imagine a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not something to stress over.
Dove® is committed to building positive self-esteem and inspiring all women and girls to reach their full
potential—but we need your help.
The Dove Self-Esteem Project provides tools and resources for mums, teachers, and mentors to educate
girls on how to build positive self-esteem. We're building a movement so that women everywhere have
the tools to take action and inspire each other and the girls in their lives. We’re committed to educating
and inspiring girls on a wider definition of beauty and on the importance of taking care of themselves
both physically and emotionally. It could be as simple as sending a word of encouragement
to a girl in your life or supporting self-esteem education in your town.
From mentoring the next generation to celebrating real beauty in ourselves and others, we can open a world of
possibilities for women and girls everywhere.
The Dove® brand is rooted in listening to women. Based on the findings of a major global study, The Real Truth
About Beauty: A Global Report, Dove® launched the Campaign for Real Beauty in 2004. The campaign
started a global conversation about the need for a wider definition of beauty after the study proved the hypothesis
that the definition of beauty had become limiting and unattainable. Among the study’s findings was the statistic
that only 2% of women around the world would describe themselves as beautiful. Since 2004, Dove® has employed
various communications vehicles to challenge beauty stereotypes and invite women to join a discussion about
beauty. In 2006, Dove launched an unprecedented effort to make beauty a source of confidence, not anxiety,
with the Dove® Self-Esteem Project.
